The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled the Mashi/Dutsi Federal Constituency of Katsina state bye-election election for Saturday May 20th, 2017.
This was contained in the Timetable and Schedule of Activities for the election signed and released by the Acting Secretary to the Commission, Musa H. Adamu.
As contained in Timetable and Schedule of Activities, Friday the 28th April to Friday the 5th May 2017 have been scheduled for conduct of primaries by political parties in accordance with Section 30(3) of the Electoral Act 2010(as amended).
Similarly, 15th May, 2017, is the last day for the publication of the list of nominated candidates as prescribed by section 31(3) of the Electoral Act (2010 as amended), while the last day for campaigns will be 18th May, 2017 in compliance to Section 99 (1) of the Electoral Act 2010 which stipulates that campaigns should end 24 hours prior to the polling day.
