The entire operationalization of the EMSC is all about tracking, monitoring and reporting on the identified activities and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators). There are over 35 electoral process, activities and over 700 KPIs that the EMSC tracks, monitors and report across the Green, Amber and Red Zones. The consolidated framework and instrumentation of the component parts of the EMSC which consist of the Election Management System (EMS), Election Risk Management (ERM), Electoral Operations and Support Centre (EOSC) and the ISANS (INEC Security Alert and Notification System) has given the Commission the increased visibility and sufficient data and information to assess the level of readiness for elections, identification of threats and risks arising from the implementation of electoral plans, processes and activities within election(s) timelines. This underscore the EMSC as an early warning system and an enabler for mobilizing fit-for-purpose response, mitigation measures and interventions.
The EMSC through its component parts, generates reports periodically across its operational timelines, Green, Amber and Red Zones, which builds up an audit trails that shows the status of implementation and progress. while the visual reports shows the progress in the status of readiness for election(s), It’s important to state that a lot of performance management efforts and communication had to be initiated and sustained between the HQ, states and LGAs offices to push forward implementation, provide the necessary supports to the processes, resolving field operations/logistic issues, mitigates threats and risks. In other words, the data report informs on the Commission’s efforts in managing elections.
