Alhaji Baba Shettima Arfo

Baba Shettima Arfo was born on 31st March, 1951. He hails from Bama Local Government Area of Borno State. He attended Bama Central Primary School between 1958 and 1961. He also attended Bama Boarding Senior P. School from 1962 to 1964 where he obtained Primary School Leaving Certificate.

Baba Arfo went to Government Secondary School Maiduguri (now Government College) where he got the WASC ‘O’ Level and ‘A’ Level certificates respectively. He later proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and obtained B.A. In 2000, Baba Arfo attended the Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos.

Before his appointment as National Commissioner in Independent National Electoral Commission INEC Baba  Shettima Arfo, has served as Permanent Secretary in the Ministries of Information, Education, Health, Commerce and Establishment at various times.

He was one time Secretary to the State Government and Head of Service and served as Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Affairs. Commissioner Arfo was also a Director, Planning Research and Statistics, Ministry of Agriculture at one time and Director of Personnel Management, Ministry of Education.

During his years in serve, he served as Deputy Chief Inspector of Education, Borno State, Lecturer Borno State College of Basic Studies Maiduguri.

Baba Shettima Arfo mni is happily married with children.
